Pembroke Military Support Group Helping to support our local military families …because Pembroke Cares

Who We Are…

The Pembroke Military Support Group is made up of families and friends of our military members. We have no political, religious, or military affiliations. Our sole purpose is to show support to our military personnel and their families who are from Pembroke. We also support the military from the surrounding towns where there is no support group available.

Since October 2001 we have helped support around 120 military members and their families. Our motto is “PEMBROKE CARES”.

Please come join us if you would like. We meet the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the veteran’s room in the Pembroke Town Hall located at 100 Center Street, Pembroke.

There are two memorial benches at the Pembroke Herring Run on Route 14 which we have dedicated to two of our fallen heroes:

1ST Lt. Brian McPhillips USMC

PFC. Matthew Bean ARMY

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Crudop family for Jesse Alan Crudop.

What We Do…

One of the ways we show support is that on a monthly basis CARE PACKAGES are sent to our military that are in the Middle East.

The following list are just some of the basic items that are sent in the packages:

  • Shampoo
  • Soap
  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Baby wipes
  • First aide items
  • Pens
  • Pencils
  • Paper
  • Envelopes
  • Batteries
  • Books
  • Magazines
  • Phone cards
  • Hand held games
  • Puzzles
  • Socks
  • DVDs
  • letters from home

During the holidays we make the packages for everyone with holiday items. We’ve also helped the families of our military with monetary assistance when it was needed.

Donations of the items listed above or monetary gifts are greatly appreciated.
